National Western Stockshow Celebrates 100 Years

The 100th National Western Stock Show, Rodeo and Horse Show runs Jan. 7-22, and features the variety and adrenalin of several ticketed performances, along with historical tributes to the Stock Show’s last 100 years.

In addition to the traditional activities and exhibits, visitors to the 100th National Western Stock Show will see historic displays, including living histories and antique photos. Rodeo fans also will be able to relive the performances of yesteryear as horse show classes, live music and legendary rodeo personalities return for a few select the ProRodeo performances.

Rodeo fans will love the excitement of two Mexican Rodeo Extravaganzas, three Professional Bull Riders events, the first-ever Martin Luther King, Jr. African-American Heritage Rodeo and 23 performances of ProRodeo action. At the same time, horse lovers will enjoy the grandeur of two Evenings of Dancing Horses, Grand Prix jumping, freestyle reining, two Wild West Shows and four Draft Horse shows. On top of all that, dog enthusiasts can catch two all-new SuperDogs performances.

The National Western Stock Show offers free daily barn tours, the world’s only carload and pen cattle shows in the historic Denver Union Stockyards, the Coors Western Art Exhibition and Sale and Children’s Ranchland. The Super Bowl of livestock shows, National Western hosts nearly 20 breeds of cattle, horse show classes, bison, yak, sheep, swine, goats, llamas, stock dogs, poultry and rabbits.
