Jamie Foxx Fires Up The Stage In The Mile-High City

If there were a modern day Midas, it would be Jamie Foxx. Everything he touches turns to gold. Whether it’s the ultimate gold statue in the realm of acting through his Academy Award for his portrayal of legendary artist and musical icon, Ray Charles or for his work as an illustrious, multitalented singer/songwriter/producer in the form of an American Music Award and now 3 Grammy Award nominations — music’s highest honor, Foxx is definitely on fire. Now, he will be lighting up stages across the country with his electrifying tour appropriately named JAMIE FOXX: UNPREDICTABLE. It’s an evening of song from his chart-topping album and sidesplitting stand-up comedy as only Jamie Foxx can provide.
In an interview with the Denver Urban Spectrum, Foxx said that this tour was the coming together of two of the things he loves to do, music and comedy.  If he had his chance to do anything, he would “love to be an NFL quarterback.”  The tour is “the next best thing” said Foxx.
Foxx is starring in the years’ biggest and this decade most talked about movie —Dreamgirls showing in theaters across the country, as well as embarking upon one of the most highly anticipated and long awaited concert tours to hit cities in years.
Foxx once said, “Ray Charles taught him how to feel.” Now, millions in this country and abroad are feeling him like never before. Foxx’s fans will now get an up close and personal opportunity to see him when he sets out on his multi-city tour which kicked off on Dec. 26 in San Diego and hits Denver on Saturday, Jan. 13 for one exclusive show at 8 p.m. at the Colorado Convention Center.
Foxx told DUS that Dreamgirls was wonderful because it showed the importance of family, and he is “trying to bring the importance of family back.”  Foxx said that staying connected to “regular folks” helps him stay grounded while he always believes in “maintaining integrity in all that you do.”
Millions of fans fell in love with Foxx’s soulful stylings when he delivered up his unique brand of musical flavor on Twista’s # 1 song, “Slow Jamz”, with Kanye West and on his collaboration with Kanye West on his #1 hit single, “Gold Digger.” These songs kicked Foxx’s musical career into high gear and served as the perfect segue into his burgeoning musical (Journey). Foxx’s debut album, Unpredictable, on J Records, has been certified platinum, earned Foxx critical acclaim, rave reviews and respect as a bona fide musical performer and now garnered him 3 Grammy Award nominations for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals, Best R&B Album and Best Rap/Song Collaboration for his work with famed rapper/actor Ludacris. From Foxx’s #1 hit, “Unpredictable” to “DJ, Play A Love Song” and his hilarious comedic stage show, Foxx will be bringing in the new year with a bang as Jamie Foxx: Unpredictable The National Tour hits cities from coast to coast.
Turning up the heat, alongside Foxx, on selected tour dates will be his J Records label mate, Fantasia, who’s fresh off the success of her platinum selling debut, Free Yourself. Fantasia will join Foxx for his Sacramento, Oakland, Chicago, Atlantic City, Uncasville, CT, Washington, DC, New York, Orlando, and Ft. Lauderdale shows.
Unfortunately for Denver, Fantasia won’t be here, but Foxx said that the show will be fabulous anyway since he gets to show the many sides of himself.
