Message from the Editor

This month’s focus is on health, health care, and alternative approaches to health care.  Alternative medicine is big business, and Black businesses in the industry can be found emphasizing various healing methods from a cultural perspective.  Denver is home to many Black holistic practitioners, and several have been in business for years.  We as a people need to acknowledge that health is a matter of taking care of ourselves before we actually get sick.

As always, enjoy the articles on education, the arts and local happenings.  However, this edition is unique because, for the first time, the Denver Urban Spectrum will be offering its perspective on issues presented in the upcoming November election.  There are also responses to questions the DUS submitted to the gubernatorial candidates.  So sit back and enjoy this edition as you schedule your massage with one of Denver’s fine Black holistic establishments.  Hears to your health!

Peace and Blessings
Dante
