ColorScope - Urban Spectrum partnered with the Denver Metro Convention and Visitor's Bureau to produce ColorScope, aninsert which serves as the Urban Spectrum Guide to the Metro Multicultural Scene. Production is underway for the second issue to be published in conjunction with the May Urban Spectrum.
USYF - Urban Spectrum Youth Foundation (USYF) began under the tenure of Mayor Wellington E. Webb with support from the Safe City Office. Since its inception, more than 100 youths (ages 11 to 17) have participated in the summer journalism program and produced their own publication called the Junior Spectrum.
SOH - In response to the atrocities of Hurricane Katrina, Spectrum of Hope (SOH) emerged from the need to assist Hurricane Katrina survivors who had relocated to Denver. Board development and organizational structure is underway. The overall goal of the organization is to assist and support not only Hurricane Katrina survivors, but other displaced citizens living in the Denver area.
Denver Urban Connection, an extension to the current online Web site version of the Spectrum, is under construction and development. This site will be more interactive for those who visit it. A major component will be a community calendar where people can read about activities and events daily, monthly, and even a year from now. Another feature will include "Urban Spectrum Daily" where hot-off-the-press stories will be published and viewed by US internet readers around the world.
